MANSFIELD — Town officials are kicking off a pilot program offering up to $10,000 for downtown business spruce-ups.

The funds are being offered to eligible businesses that apply to the program to be reimbursed for improvements to their property.

Reimbursement grants of up to $10,000 will be awarded for outside improvements, such as upgrades to awnings, planters, signs or landscaping, among other things.

The pilot program is a collaboration by the select board, the town’s Statehouse delegation and its Industrial Development Commission.
